An appeal to support Sunkoshi flood victims
Shakti Samuha is an anti-trafficking organization working in 11 districts of Nepal. Among the 11 districts Sindhupalchowk is one of the district of its arena. Shakti Samuha, hold its serious attention towards the destruction of lives of people and property due to the occurrence of landslide in Sindhupalchok District on 17th of Shrawan, 2071 (2nd August 2014). As per the information provided by Nepal Government more than 123 people found dead, 100 people has been missing and for the search of missing people & rescue has been continued.
According to community people, more than 100 people has been missing due to landslide. Due to blockage caused by landslide at Sunkoshi River, several villages are in high risk and the district is still in urgency situation. Many villagers has been ruin from their home and village because of this serious natural destruction. In such condition, all have appeal the Nepal Government to manage the immediate treatment for injured persons providing emergency support, to search the missed peoples and to manage the Koshi river as much as possible to minimize further risk and damage among peoples and nearby places. In such complicated situation, Shakti Samuha appeals all citizen organization to provide landslide victim with foods, cash, humanity or other types of support. Moreover, Shakti Samuha regards its heartfelt condolence for the people who lost their and wish soon health recovery for the injured persons.
Every day when we read newspaper and seeing the horrible situation of Sindhupalchowk we are feeling that people’s tear has turned into flood and spending their time striving.
People have been spending day and night without a roof over their head and not enough food to live as well. This situation has been creating a more heartbreak situation among people. Thus Shakti Samuha would like to appeal financial support from you, your organization and the people nearby you to support affected peoples by emergency support of food-medicine-cloths- money and other needs.
