Celebrated 6th International day of the girl child

International Day of the Girl Child is an international observance day declared by the United Nations; it is also called the Day of the Girl and the International Day of the Girl. October 11, 2012, was the first Day of the Girl. The observation supports more opportunity for girls and increases awareness of gender inequality faced by girls worldwide based upon their gender. This inequality includes areas such as the right to education/access to education, nutrition, legal rights, medical care, and protection from discrimination, violence against women and unfree child marriage.The celebration of the day also “reflects the successful emergence of girls and young women as a distinct cohort in development policy, programming, campaigning and research. We would like to wish you all girls child on the occasion of this international day. Let’s stop all the forms of discrimination against the girl child.

On the occasion of the 6th International day of the girl child, Shakti Samuha has provided the token of love to 5 adolescent girls for their dedication to the movement against human trafficking and in the sector of child rights. Girls have shared that these certificates and toke of love has supported to work strongly in these sectors. They have shared that the discrimination against girl child is from before the birth of the child and still exists even after the death. They have strongly raised the voice to stop any forms of discrimination against the girl child.
