Rally program on the occasion of the International Women’s Day

On the occasion of the 108th International Women’s Day, Shakti Samuha participated in the rally program organized by the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare on March 8, 2018.  It commemorates the movement for women’s rights.
While the first observance of a Women’s Day was held on February 28, 1909, in New York, March 8 was suggested by the 1910 International Woman’s Conference to become an “International Woman’s Day.” After women gained suffrage in Soviet Russia in 1917, March 8 became a national holiday there. The day was then predominantly celebrated by the socialist movement and communist countries until it was adopted in 1975 by the United Nations.
Shakti Samuha participated in a national level rally to celebrate International Women’s Day. Let’s spirit our solidarity and unity for the gender equality to promote human rights all over the world.
Equal wages for equal work. Let’s respect women in all workplace. End all kinds of discrimination, exploitation, and violence against women.
